SA Under-20 coach Eric Sauls has made four changes – including rotating both his props – for Sunday’s IRB World Junior Championship third and fourth place play-off match with Wales.
Frederick Kirsten and Corné Fourie drop to a bench that features five forwards as South Africa prepare for a forward onslaught from the tournament hosts. “I’ve put two front rankers on the bench because it is going to be a very tough game in the front rows,” said Sauls. “Their scrumming is very good and conditions will favour them as it is definitely going to rain. I’ve chosen a group of 22 that will be the best 22 for the conditions.” Props Wiehahn Herbst and Jean-Jacques Rossouw get the opportunity to start while Sias Ebersohn starts at flyhalf with Francois Brummer moving inside in place of Stefan Watermeyer. In the final change Nick Koster starts in place of Johan van Deventer. “The guys have lifted themselves tremendously after the England loss and at this stage the camp is very positive towards the game,” said Sauls. The match is being televised live on SuperSport 1 from 17:45 on Sunday. The final between New Zealand and England kicks off at 19:45 and is on SuperSport 1 and CSN. SA Under-20 team (v Wales) 15.
