NZ UNDER 20 SIDE NAMED FOR SEMI FINAL |

 New Zealand Under 20 Co-Coaches Dave Rennie and Russell Hilton-Jones have named the New Zealand Under 20 side to play Wales in the semifinals of the IRB Junior World Championship in Newport, Wales on Thursday 19 June at 6.00am (NZ time).

Andre Taylor (Manawatu) New Zealand advanced to the semifinal after beating Tonga 48–9, Ireland 65–10 and Argentina 60–0 in pool play while Wales beat Italy, Japan and France to progress. Hilton-Jones said it was important that the team remained focused. “At this stage of the competition the team has achieved good results. However as we move into semifinal mode we need to ensure that we take all aspects of our game to another level.” SKY Sport will televise the semifinal live on the Rugby Channel from 6.00am. TVNZ will broadcast a highlights package at 12.20am on Friday 20 June and again at 1.30pm on Sunday 22 June. Meanwhile, Michael Harris has returned to New Zealand after suffering a knee injury in the team’s IRB Junior World Championship match against Tonga in Wales. Harris received extensive medical care last week but the injury did not respond to treatment. The North Harbour first five-eighth has been replaced by Manawatu’s Kurt Baker. |
