The Tooheys New Shute Shield kicks off on Saturday, with a number of HSBC Waratahs and HSBC Junior Waratahs returning to play club Rugby.
Any fit squad members not required for higher honours will be available to play in the Tooheys New Shute Shield on a week-to-week basis, with yesterday's HSBC Waratahs' selections seeing 16 Waratahs and professional Junior Waratahs available to pull on the club colours this week. After breaking his leg at the 2007 Rugby World Cup, David Lyons will make his comeback for Sydney University in the ABC TV Match of the Day against Manly at Manly Oval. Fellow HSBC Waratahs Alfi Mafi and Jeremy Tilse will also be available for the Students, along with Junior Waratahs Pat McCutcheon (No.8) and Dan Kelly (flyhalf). Outside back Ben Batger will be on duty for Eastwood, centre Sam Harris is available for Warringah, scrumhalf Luke Burgess will turn out for Easts, while Ben Mowen and Sekope Kepu are available to play their first match for Randwick. Meanwhile HSBC Junior Waratah Ross Duncan will not be turning out for Warringah this week, having taken his place in the Australian squad to contest the Hong Kong Sevens starting tomorrow.
