NSW Rugby has thrown its full support behind the ARU’s commitment to expand Super Rugby.

NSWRU Chief Executive Officer Jim L’Estrange agrees that enhancing the Super 14 competition is the best way forward for the game.

“The SANZAR alliance oversees the toughest Super 14 competition in the world and the Waratahs are right behind the vision to expand,” Mr L’Estrange said.

“I’ve been informed of reports from New Zealand about a smaller replacement competition between Australian and New Zealand teams but know nothing more than that.

“We remain committed to the expansion of Super Rugby and wholeheartedly support the ARU’s stance regarding this matter.”
