Full back Chris Wyles has joined Saracens on secondment from USA Rugby for the 2008/09 campaign.
Although born is Stamford, Connecticut, the 24-year-old has English parents and he went to school at Haileybury College - just a few miles from the Saracens Training Centre in Hatfield. Nottingham University graduate Wyles is also no stranger to the Guinness Premiership having enjoyed the 2006/07 season with Northampton Saints. Capped 10 times by his country on the wing or at full back, he joins the Saracens squad on loan as USA Rugby looks to further develop and give more experience to the players within its national squad. "Chris joins us on secondment from USA Rugby who are looking to develop their players," explained Saracens Director of Rugby Eddie Jones. "He will also add further depth and competition to the Saracens squad so this will be a mutually beneficial agreement. Chris had a very good 2007 World Cup campaign in France and he is a player with a good kicking game and is strong in defence. Having been educated in Hertfordshire, he's also no stranger to the area and we're looking forward to him joining us for the start of the season." |
