Leicester Tigers welcomed around 10,000 supporters for the club's Open Day at Welford Road on Sunday.
Early-morning rain cleared in time for the whole-day event, with supporters joining activities on and off the pitch as well as seeing behind the scenes at their favourite rugby club and meeting the first-team squad and coaches. Leicester Tigers managing director David Clayton said: "We had not held an Open Day for a number of years but we felt that, with the beginning of work on the stadium redevelopment this summer, this was an excellent opportunity to welcome supporters old and new, and let them share in a great day at the club. "The players met the supporters, signed masses of autographs and posed for photos, and everyone had an enjoyable afternoon. "The Club Shop was busy throughout the day, with the new playing and training kit proving popular, and the fashion show involving the players was a major attraction for a lot of supporters. "The virtual reality tour of phase one of the redevelopment was also particularly popular and the have-a-go events on the pitch attracted a lot of the young supporters." Leicester Tigers complete their pre-season campaign with a home game against Australian visitors Emirates Western Force on Saturday, August 30, kick-off 3pm. Tickets are available now from the ticket office, call 08701 28 34 30, book online or call in at Welford Road. Special rates are available for season ticket holders and members. |
