This weekend sees the 6th round of The Guinness Premiership take place. The tie of the round sees Bath Rugby play hosts to The Leicester Tigers.

Sale Sharks v Worcester Warriors


Sale Sharks have won just one of their last six matches in all competitions: 32-15 at Montferrand in the European Cup on 11 October. Sale have won five of their last six games at Edgeley Park in the Guinness Premiership.

Worcester Warriors have lost their last three games in the Guinness Premiership since their 11-10 victory at Wasps on 14 September.

Amazingly the last five encounters between the two teams have been won by the away side on the day. The Warriors have won on their last two visits to Edgeley


Bath Rugby v Leicester Tigers


Bath Rugby’s only defeat in the Guinness Premiership this season was 17-21 at home to Gloucester on 13 September.

Leicester Tigers have won five of their last six matches in all competitions, and have not lost away from home in the Guinness Premiership since their visit to Newcastle on 4 May.

The Tigers have already won at the Rec this season: 19-15 in the EDF Energy Cup on 4 October.

Leicester’s only win in their last five visits to the Rec in the Premiership was 19-12 on 25 March 2006.

Bristol Rugby v Northampton Saints

Bristol Rugby’s only win in their last 16 matches in all competitions since March was 39-11 at home to Toulon in the European Challenge Cup on 17 October.
Bristol’s most recent victory in the Guinness Premiership was 28-8 over Newcastle at Kingston Park on 16 March.

Northampton Saints have won four of their last five encounters in all competitions, whilst the Saints most recent win in the Guinness Premiership was 24-20 at home to Wasps on 20 September.

Bristol won both Premiership encounters with Northampton the last time they met in season 2006-07, however the Saints were victorious 30-17 in the EDF Energy Cup at Franklin’s Gardens on 4 October.

Harlequins v London Wasps


Harlequins have won three of their last four games in all competitions, and were victorious on their most recent match in the Guinness Premiership: 30-23 at Worcester on 2 October.

London Wasps have won their last two games, against Newcastle and the Dragons in the EDF Energy Cup. Wasps only victory in their five outings in the Guinness Premiership so far this season was 28-19 at Leicester on 26 September.

Harlequins have won just one of their last seven encounters with Wasps: 26-25 at Twickenham

Newcastle Falcons v London Irish


Newcastle Falcons have lost their last three games in all competitions since their 63-0 victory over Spanish outfit El Salvador in the European Challenge Cup on 11 October. The Falcons’ last four games in the Guinness Premiership have all been won by the home side on the day.

The only defeat London Irish have suffered in their last seven matches in all competitions was 5-22 at Worcester in the EDF Energy Cup on 5 October. The Exiles have won three of their last four away games in the Guinness Premiership.

London Irish have won the last five matches between the two sides in all competitions since the Falcons won 9-6 at Madejski Stadium on 12 February 2006.

Saracens v Gloucester Rugby

Saracens have won seven of their last eight encounters in all competitions. Saracens’ only defeat in the Guinness Premiership at Vicarage Road since February was 29-40 to Wasps on 20 April.

Gloucester Rugby’s only defeat in their last six games in all competitions was 24-37 away to Cardiff Blues in the European Cup on 19 October. Gloucester have won three of their last four matches in the Guinness Premiership.

Saracens have won just one of their last seven encounters against Gloucester: 24-22 at Vicarage
