ULSTER RUGBY PRODUCE MAGNERS LEAGUE SHOCK |

Munster remain top of the Magners League table despite suffering their first loss of the season to Ulster at Ravenhill on Saturday night - coincidently the venue for their last away loss in April - the welcome win lifting the Ulstermen off the bottom of the table.
Glasgow Warrior's defeat of reigning champions Leinster put the Scottish side into third place in the table behind Munster and Ospreys whilst the loss meant the Irish province equalled their worst league run since season 2003/04. In a battle of the kickers in poor weather conditions, Dan Parks' five successes out of six penalty attempts was enough to give the home side the victory. Elsewhere a Magners League record was created at the Sportsground on Friday night with all 41 points in the game between Connacht and Edinburgh scored at one end of the ground. Edinburgh were leading 27-0 at half time, whilst Connacht scored 14 unanswered points in the second half. The previous highest score for this feat was the 35 points racked up by Ebbw Vale and Bridgend in September 2001. Ulster 22 - 6 Munster Connacht 14 - 27 Edinburgh Glasgow 15 - 12 Leinster |
