Korea scored 7 tries in their 43 - 20 defeat of the Arabian Gulf at Al Arabi Stadium in Qatar. This win was Korea's first win in the competition.

The gulf responded well to their heavy defeat in Japan in the previous round. Korea however held the edge and in fullback they had a real game breaker.

The other match in the round saw Japan run out comfortable 82 - 6 winners over Kazakhstan in Almaty. Japan scored a round dozen tries with 8 of them coming from backs, a testament to the style of play that the Japanese bring to the tournament.

Japan face Hong Kong next at the Big Swan Stadium in Niigata on 18 May if they win it will see them crowned the inaugural Asian Five Nations champions.
